I'm a smart and bright (maybe the brightest) student in Japan, found this world is rotten. Murderer, burglar, corrupted politician, rapist, etc, they are everywhere. One day, he found a notebook titled “death note”. A note book with special powers, human whose name written on the note shall die, and it can control deaths too. This notebook was dropped by a shinigami (death god) named Ryuk, because he’s bored with his daily activity in his world, gambling and sleeping.
Light took this opportunity to make this world a better world without crime in it, and be the god of the new world himself. He kills countless criminals. People recognize these as murder because all of them die because of heart attack. People support Light and call him “Kira” (from the word “killer”), while Light’s covering his identity.
